What We Feed Ourselves (paintings)

What We Feed Ourselves was is a year-long community project I completed in 2019. The project was funded by Minnesota State Arts Board and Minneapolis Regional Arts Council. The five-painting series profiles five immigrant restaurants, highlighting the differences between food that they serve vs cook for themselves. The work examines “authentic” cuisine through a lens of immigration, acculturation, and survival under capitalism. Prints of this project are available on my etsy

Work was presented at a community event with over 300+ attendees and compiled in this booklet.
